Symmetria brings to the world of the compact disc the luxury and expansiveness of vinyl packaging. Most cd releases of today are mere compromises, chunks of plastic with art as an afterthought, or at best a shrunken down version of a design intended for the fully realized vinyl version. Symmetria is a gorgeous six panel creation, with art specifically designed at its destination size, in order to do honor to the packaging as a whole. The packaging consists of heavy weight natural white felt finish paper, with hyper detailed miniaturist ink paintings printed in offset lithography, and labyrinthine graphics and archaic fonts printed in letterpress from metal plates. This results in a tactile and visual totem that accompanies and enhances the music within. Fourteen interlocking songs encompassing a multitude of instruments. Fifty three minutes of deep, entrancing music that leads one into an alternate world where instrumental acoustic and ambient music meet.
Uccello Project is the musical composition and instrumental work of Steve Uccello. In conjunction with the music, visual and textual concepts were created by J. F. Uccello in the Octagonal Aerie. Kathy Uccello plays twin mandolin with Steve on two songs. The editing, mixing, and mastering skills of Universal Audio veteran Tim Prince bring the album to fruition.
The CD "SYMMETRIA" can be aquired at $15 (includes shipping). Purchase the album directly from the artist and receive a simultaneous free download.
